The Institut Gustave Roussy (IGR) is the largest centre dedicated to treatment of patients with cancer in Europe. It is a non-profit institution affiliated to the Paris XI faculty of medicine devoted to effectively integrating high-quality healthcare, research and education in oncology. Key indicators are 12,000 new patients per year, a total 160,000 outpatient visits including 44,000 patients in diagnosis, treatment or follow up, 120 clinicians, 300 researchers, and 12 pathology-oriented multidisciplinary medical committees. The IGR is devoted to develop innovative multidisciplinary programs in cancer research, from basic science to translational and clinical research. Strategic priorities are dedicated to speed up diagnostic and therapeutic innovations by fostering synergies between clinicians, biologists and researchers through collaborative public-private partnerships.
